Giving back is something that is important to us here at Rylee & Cru. Last year we were able to partner with a non-profit organization called Food For The Hungry and sponsor 10 girls in Indonesia ranging in age from 6-10 years old. Our support allows them to go to school and purchase school supplies and clothes for the year.
This year we wanted to do something locally, so we partnered with an incredible non-profit called Savvy Giving by Design. Their mission is to provide comfort, support, and healing to families with a child facing a medical crisis by transforming the interior spaces of their homes. The first room I had the opportunity to help design was for a 3 year old little girl named Ansley battling high Risk Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She is such a sweet and bubbly girl with a big beautiful smile, and it just breaks my heart that she, or any child, should have to go through something like this. Her family's life has been flipped upside down and I was so happy to be able to bring a bit of joy to this otherwise very challenging and overwhelming season. Ansley loves nature, flowers, unicorns and the color pink, so I tried to create a space that encompassed a lot of her favorite things while also feeling calm and whimsical. She shares her room with her 10 month old baby sister so it was fun to create a new space for the both of them.
See the 'before' photos of the room here.
So many amazing and generous companies contributed to pull this room together! Huge thanks to our friends at Anewall Decor, Pehr Designs, Society6, Babyletto, Merrilee Liddiard Shop, and Jesi Haack Design !
